Jika ngomongin musik bambu, di Sumedang mungkin banyak sih para pelaku atau pembuat musik bambu, salah satunya Komunitas Saung Mang Dedi. Komunitas Saung Mang Dedi, berdiri sekitar tahun 2012 akhir.
Saung Mang Dedi tersebut beralamat di Dusun Manabaya Rt 05 Rw 06 Desa Sindang Pakuon, Kecamatan Cimanggung, Sumedang ini bertujuan untuk melestarikan budaya tradisional sunda.
Sesuai dengan namanya, yaitu Saung Mang Dedi, inisiasinya oleh Mang Dedi sendiri dan ada pun saudaranya yang membantu: Aki Mamat, Iyan dan Adi dengan latar belakang musik yang berbeda-beda, kelima bersaudara ini memanfaatkan bambu-bambu biasa untuk menjadi alat-alat musik khas sunda dengan bunyi-bunyian yang khas.
Saung Mang Dedi memliki logo berupa tiga ruas bambu hijau dengan dua pucuk daun hijau yang menggambarkan bahwa semua alat musik dalam kelompok budaya ini terbuat dari bambu.
Ada pun beberapa grup musik bambu yang lahir di Saung Mang Dedi sebagai binaan Saung Mang Dedi. Selain itu juga banyak grup-grup musik bambu yang datang, untuk latihan, service alat dan membeli. Bahkan grup musik Karinding Attack pun beberapa alat musiknya dari sana.
